Southend Wedding Photographer

As a professional photographer based in Southend on Sea, I had the honour of capturing the beautiful wedding of Ashley and Chris. The ceremony was held at the picturesque St Clements Church in Leigh on Sea, and the reception was at the stunning Ocean Beach venue in Southend on Sea. As a Southend wedding photographer, I was thrilled to be able to capture the unique charm of this coastal town in the couple’s wedding photos. From the stunning seascapes to the vibrant local culture, Southend on Sea provided the perfect backdrop for Ashley and Chris’s special day. I’m delighted to share some of my favourite images from the wedding, which showcase the couple’s love and joy, as well as the beauty of Southend on Sea. Take a look at the gallery below and see for yourself the magical moments I was able to capture. If you’re looking for a Southend wedding photographer who can bring your special day to life, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

How did you meet?

We met online but told everyone we met at a BBQ, no idea how we got away with it for so long!

How did he propose?

Chris had his best friends lined up to let off fireworks from behind our flat and we watched from our terrace. Before I realised what was happening Chris was down on one knee and my response was ‘Did you do this?’ I quickly followed it up with a yes!

What Wedding Venue/s did you choose and why?

We had our ceremony at St Clements as it is our local church and just beautiful. Our reception was held at Ocean Beach. We both love the water so it made sense to be near it on our wedding day and the staff were so helpful and friendly that we felt at home from our first look round.

Where did you buy your dress?

Abigail’s collection in Colchester. The ladies are lovely and it’s such an experience shopping there.

What about the grooms suit?

Chris hired his suit from Moss Bros.

Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

We had a beach/ nautical theme and went for pastel colours as our colour scheme.

What source did you use for wedding inspiration?

Pinterest!

If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advice would you give yourself?

Savour the moment more.

What was your favourite photograph from the day?

I have lots! One of my favourites is from when I had just got dressed and all my bridesmaids were helping to put my veil in, the photo really captured the buzz. My favourite one of Chris and I, is from where we are standing on church steps with the blossom behind us.

What song did you choose for your 1st dance?

We chose an original song called ‘I Wanna Live by the Sea with You’ which was written by our very talented friend Rory McNeill

Was “Gary Derbridge Photography” the right Southend Wedding photographer for you?

100%. Gary put us and our guests completely at ease and the photos are just wonderful.
