Swynford Manor Wedding Photographer Cambridgeshire

Can you believe it’s 2022 already?! I spent the first few months of 2021 waiting for weddings to return, and when they did… they really did return with a bang. I was the wedding photographer for over 40 amazing couples, and one of them was the latest couple to appear on my blog, Kelly and Darren. They tied the knot at Swynford Manor in Cambridgeshire last year. It was the first time I visited this stunning venue, and hopefully, it will not be the last! I absolutely loved Kelly and Darren’s styling on the day, some of which can be spotted in the photos below. They were also kind enough to fill in my mini questionnaire about their big day, helping you learn a bit more about their choices and suppliers! Online – Plenty of fish

How did he propose?

Whilst on holiday in St Lucia. We were out on a sunset catamaran trip and Darren got down on one knee. Steel drum band in the background and the whole boat watching

What Wedding Venue/s did you choose and why?

Swynford Manor – We had been to view a couple of others but we both knew from the minute we walked in it was only ever going to be Swynford. We wanted the whole day to be in one venue so that we could have as much time as possible to celebrate with our friends and family. The interior or Swynford is like no other. The exterior gives the old Manor house style, but the interior is modern and clean.

Where did you buy your dress? Was it a choice between many?

Susan Nicholas Opulent Bridal – SNOB in Manea Cambridgeshire. It was the first dress I ever tried on. Everything I put on was just compared to the first dress. The dress designer is Morilee, design Sigourney

What about the groom’s suit? Did you already have a set style in mind?

Chimney formal menswear in Bassingbourn. So many different combinations were tried on. Finally agreed on Tails- something Darren said would never be an option originally.

Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

Clean – White & silver.

If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advice would you give yourself?

Always plan for a pandemic!! Don’t compare – not everything you see on Instagram is real

What was your favourite photograph/s from the day?

Soooo many to pick from. The confetti shot is probably top of the list, also the ones capturing my dad’s reaction when he first saw me. So many lovely ones of me and Darren, in particular the ones taken outside with all the greenery.
