The Lawn Wedding Venue Rochford Photographs
The next wedding to feature on my blog is the marriage of Charli and John. They tied the knot at St Andrews Church in Ashingdon followed by their wedding reception at The Lawn in Rochford. Charli was one of my friends from teenage years, so it was an absolute pleasure to play such an important part of the day, and see so many familiar faces! Below you can find out a little bit more information about them, and their wedding day! You will also be able to find some of the images that I captured on the day!
How did you meet?
A mutual friend set us up and it was love at first sight
How did the he propose?
On our first year anniversary, John took me away to our favourite spa (Lifehouse). All the staff knew he was going to propose. In our room there were champagne, chocolates and rose petals and towel swans on the bed. We were taken up to our room and John dropped to one knee to pop the question.
What wedding venue/s did you choose and why?
We chose to get married at St Andrew’s church in Ashingdon and continue the day at The Lawn in Rochford because we liked the idea of getting married locally. The church is beautiful, small and quaint and is a couple of minutes walk from our home so it was perfect. The Lawn is just up the road too and was the first venue we visited; we instantly fell in love with it and didn’t want to view any others. We loved that The Lawn was family run and everyone was so accommodating.
Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?
Theme – Cinderella and Prince charming/fairytale. Colour scheme – Ivory and Cobalt Blue
What source did you use for wedding inspiration?
Mainly Pinterest and Google
If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advice would you give yourself?
Maybe to pace ourselves a little better, so that it was less stressful, as we made all of our stationery ourselves. But on the whole we were really pleased with how everything came together and we had the most perfect day. It just went so fast!

Was “Gary Derbridge Photography” the right photographer for you?
Definitely! Gary kept the day running smoothly, he was so organised and confident, made us feel comfortable for the photographs and kept everyone giggling. He made sure that our photos captured everything that we wanted. We are so pleased with all of them and couldn’t have asked for anything more! Gary is an extremely talented photographer and so many of our guests commented on how lovely he was.
