Wedding Photography at Bressingham Hall
The next wedding to feature on my blog is the marriage of Roua and Matt. They tied the knot at a gorgeous venue called Bressingham Hall in Diss. It was the second time I had worked there, after shooting Rachel and Ed’s wedding there back in June 2017. The blog post from their wedding day can be found here. It’s a couple of hours from my office, so I left bright and early to allow plenty of time for traffic. As usual, I arrived well early and treated myself to a well earned coffee. I had another scout around the venue, and started deciding on some of the shots I was going to capture throughout the day.
Below you can find out a bit more information about Roua and Matt’s wedding day. You can also read some information about them as a couple. Two of the images from their wedding actually won me National Awards with the Masters Photographers Association, one of them winning the whole competition.
I hope you enjoy the read! Don’t forget to leave a comment with your thoughts on the images below.
How did you meet?
We met in Leeds, where Matt was studying at university
How did he propose?
At home, just the two of us, as Matt knew I wouldn’t like a public proposal
What Wedding Venue/s did you choose and why?
As soon as we visited Bressingham Hall & High Barn we knew it was the right venue for us. We loved the look and intimate feel, perfect for our small wedding
Where did you buy your dress?
My dress was the ‘Jensen’ by White One and I found it at the Wedding Room in Peterborough. It was the fifth dress I tried on and I knew it was the one straight away. I loved the lace and the beautiful open back.
What about the grooms suit?
Matt’s suit was a bespoke design from Tailor Me at Moss Bros with a tie and pocket square from Swagger & Swoon.
Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?
No not really, we just wanted to keep it simple and classic and in keeping with the barn style of the venue.
What source did you use for wedding inspiration?
Lots of bridal magazines and Pinterest. I found lots of inspiration for my DIY table decorations.
If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advise would you give yourself?
Don’t stress so much about pleasing everyone. Guests will have an amazing time no matter what.
Use your suppliers’ knowledge as they have a wealth of experience to draw from.
What was your favourite photograph from the day?
It has to be the veil shot on the bridge. We had so much fun trying to get that shot so looking at that photo always makes us smile.
What song did you choose for your 1st dance?
Trey Songz – Almost Lose It
Was “Gary Derbridge Photography” the right photographer for you?
Absolutely! We clicked with Gary straight away and he understood that we didn’t want too many posed shots but lots of natural ones. He made us feel so relaxed and we loved that he learned everyone’s names.
