A third blog post in one week, that must be a record! This truly shows just how much the Coronavirus has slowed down business. Although business is suffering, it is nice to be able to take time and concentrate on the website and other aspects of the business I often do not have the free time to do.

The next wedding to feature on my blog is the marriage of Kirsty and Mike. They tied the knot at Crondon Park in Stock. They hired me to be their wedding photographer all day, and I was with them from the preparations right through until the first dance and later!

Below you can find a Q&A that I sent to the bride and groom. It will tell you more about the planning of their big day. I have also included some of my favourite images from their day for you to enjoy! It’s amazing to find out just how much detail goes into the planning of a wedding day. I love hearing their responses to my questions!

If you would like to find out more information about my wedding photography services, please feel free to get in touch with me. You can either email gary@gdphotographer.co.uk or call 07852 457661.

I will be chuffed to hear from you, and happy to have a chat about your special day and see if I can help!

What Wedding Venue/s did you choose and why?

We choose a rustic barn-type venue for our wedding. We really liked our venue as it allowed us to have the ceremony there as well as the reception and we could stay overnight.

The staff there were so lovely and accommodating which made us like it even more.

Where did you buy your dress?

Chantilly lace in Westcliff.

What about the grooms suit?

Michael and all the groomsmen hired their suits from Del Tailors in Benfleet.

Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

We wanted to go for rustic type décor to match the venue. Our colour scheme was mainly Cadbury purple but we added hints of lilac and other purples mixed in.

What source did you use for wedding inspiration?

Most of our ideas for our day come from Pinterest as well as family/friends’ ideas.

If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advice would you give yourself?

To not worry too much about the planning and not let it take over everything. The silly things we worried about all came together on the day and it was perfect.

What was your favourite photograph from the day?

We have a few we love. It’s impossible to pick just one. A few of our favourites are us cutting the cake, Our first dance with the LOVE lights in the back, a confetti photo and of course the one after we had just got married.

What song did you choose for your 1st dance?

Elvis Presley – Cant help falling in love with you.

Was “Gary Derbridge Photography” the right photographer for you?

We wouldn’t have had anyone else capture our special day.

We found Gary through Facebook and organised a meeting with him. He was professional from start to finish and made us feel so at ease, especially on our wedding day.

We have recommended him to a few people since our wedding and we would definitely use him again in the future.
