Red Brick Barn Wedding Photographer

Thanks for reading my latest blog post, the Red Brick Barn Wedding Photographer. The next wedding to feature on my blog is the marriage of Hayley and David. They tied the knot at Red Brick Barn in Rochford. It’s a venue that a lot of people haven’t heard of, in the grounds of Sutton Hall near the mini railway track. I remember passing by the mini railway as a child and thinking that it looked a lot bigger than it really is!

I love the venue and the DIY feel to it! Hayley and David had thought of everything from a delicious hog roast to the mobile bar on site. They also had help from Rock the day styling to make sure every option they needed was ticked! It was the first time that I had worked with them, and I am pleased to report it was an absolute pleasure to do so.

The weather was gorgeous for their big day, and the gardens were simply stunning for the photographs! Below you can find out a bit more about their special day as well as some of the photographs that I captured on the day. I hope that you enjoy looking through some of my favourites, and if you have any questions please just contact me! I would love to hear all about your wedding day, and we can chat about just how I can help!

How did you meet?

We worked together for years but didn’t really talk until one lunch break we discovered we had similar music tastes.

How did the he propose?

Down on one knee on a very pebbly beach! A beach near Dunwich; we were camping at Cliffhouse caravan and camping site (where his parents honeymooned years ago).

What Wedding Venue/s did you choose and why?

We chose The Red Brick Barn because we loved it’s rustic charm and the fact that we could make this totally our wedding; our way!

Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

Our theme was more what makes us, us! We had a hint of Star Wars, afternoon tea, a Pagan handfasting, a picnic/fete style marquee, and a hog roast in the evening! Our colours ended up being a dusty pink and dark blue combo.

What source did you use for wedding inspiration?

Pinterest!

If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advise would you give yourself?

Don’t take on too much whilst wedding planning (like studying for a diploma and degree, planning surprise 30th Birthday events, etc), especially when planning everything separately and doing some DIY wedding bits! Very glad we chose to hire a wedding coordinator to bring it all together on the day!

What was your favourite photograph from the day?

There are so many amazing photos to choose from! I think we both love the sunset photos; they were definitely worth the walk!

What song did you choose for your 1st dance?

Follow You by Bring Me the Horizon; we love it, it’s very us and the words just seemed to fit the occasion.

Was “Gary Derbridge Photography” the right photographer for you?

100%! Gary is lovely and definitely knows what he’s doing! He managed to organise everyone and get some great shots! No one found him intrusive at all; he did an excellent job of ‘fitting in’ and there are photos he took of us where we were completely unaware he was there, and they are beautiful photos!

Are you getting married at The Red Brick Barn?

So do you have an up-and-coming wedding at The Red Brick Barn and are still looking for a wedding photographer?

As you have read above it’s a venue that I have worked at lots of times before and know it well. It is also located really close to my Southend office, so if you decided to have an engagement shoot we could even complete it within the grounds of your wedding venue.

If you would like to find out more information about my wedding photography collections, please do get in touch with me. You can either call me on 07852 457661 or email gary@gdphotographer.co.uk

I will be over the moon to hear all about your day, and we can have an informal chat about how I can help you with your wedding photographs.

As mentioned above, my office is situated only minutes away from the Red Brick Barn. So should you and your partner wish to ever pop into my office for a quick chat, I have lots of beautiful album samples that I could show to you.
