The next wedding to feature on my Blog is the marriage of Sam and Adam. They tied the knot at Newland Hall in Roxwell, close to Chelmsford. It was a beautiful and warm day. This meant most of the photos throughout the day were on the grounds of the Church and the venue. You can find out a little more about the decisions behind their wedding day below, along with some of my favourite images. I hope that you enjoy the read.

How did you meet?

We were little kids running around together at the same nursery, so we technically met when we were both 3 years old. We met again in college at 17 where we became best friends!

How did he propose?

Adam booked a ‘surprise birthday’ trip to Venice…which turned out to be a surprise romantic proposal on a gondola.

What Wedding Venue/s did you choose and why?

It was always a dream for us to get married in a church, somewhere in the countryside…we decided on St Michael and All Angels church in Roxwell, Chelmsford. Walking into the church for the first time gave us such a warm feeling and we knew it just felt right. The short drive through the country lanes from the church to our reception venue Newland Hall gave us the country feel we had been looking for (we were so lucky we had a real summers day to appreciate it much more!). Newland Hall gave us the exclusivity we wanted as well as the mix between traditional old buildings and a modern marquee, so we had all the photo opportunities we could have wanted!

Where did you buy your dress?

The wedding dress was a Vera Wang design purchased at David’s Bridal in Stratford, London

What about the grooms suit?

The suits for groomsmen were hired from Debenhams.

Did you have a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

Our colour scheme was grey and blush pink which we tried to include throughout – from the outfits to the table decorations and favours. Our overall theme was ‘love stories’ and we linked each wedding breakfast table to a couple from well known love story movies.

What source did you use for wedding inspiration?

We always had an idea in our heads about the type of wedding we wanted but we also used pinterest for some more inspiration.

If you could turn back the clock before planning started, what advise would you give yourself?

To relax, everything works out in the end!

Was “Gary Derbridge Photography” the right photographer for you?

Gary has amazed us with his photography, we loved each and every photo and he made us feel so comfortable throughout the day. We would definitely recommend friends and family to use Gary as they won’t be dissapointed!
